Why Linux is on the list
- Linux desktop video editing is thin on automated tools — most silence removal ends up as a hand-rolled ffmpeg script or a Kdenlive plugin.
- Developers and technical creators recording tutorials and conference talks tend to have the longest raw files and the least patience for manual trimming.
- Transcript-based editing and auto-captions are the parts of the workflow that have no good native Linux equivalent.
Where things actually stand
Linux is the least likely of the three to happen soon, and we would rather say that plainly than imply a build is around the corner. The waitlist is a real signal — if enough people sign up, it gets built.

Is there a Linux version of BlitzCut?
No. BlitzCut AI runs on iPhone, iPad, and Mac only. There is no Linux package, AppImage, Flatpak, or Snap.
Will BlitzCut run under Wine or a VM?
No. There is no Windows build to run under Wine, and the Mac app cannot legally or practically be virtualized on Linux hardware.
What can I use on Linux right now?
